While some of the major actors in the international relations do conceive Arab world from a cultural biasis, supporting the theory of the clash of civilizations, wishing to explain in a glance social crisis, lack of governants’ legitimacy, delay in the reform process… it may seem worth to wonder whether the cultural and economical integration of the Arab world in a globalized environment is on its way to be achieved. Still, democractic civil society, leading initiatives aimed at implementing good governance, based on participation and responsability constitute a really dynamic component within these societies, at local and transnational levels. How could in this context globalization process be perceived as a trend that would not be out of reach of the Arab citizens ?
Bridge Initiative would like to bring its support to Civil Society in the Arab world, by helping to clarify its messages in the multilateral sphere. Also, Bridge Initiative ensures a transversal participation of Arab Civil Society within the events and thematical mediation processes engaged, so that the specific concerns of this geographical and cultural area can be taken into account, and enrich the issues raised at local, meso and global scales.
